My name is Katherine Born, and I am honored to be part of the Mill Valley School District community, raising my two children here. As I find myself with some additional time, I am excited to express my interest in candidacy for a couple of the available positions within the PTA at Old Mill Elementary.

A brief introduction about myself: I have a profound connection with Marin County, having grown up here. This bond inspired me to move back to Mill Valley with my family so that my children could benefit from the exceptional educational opportunities this town offers. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in political science and history, with aspirations to attend law school in the future.

Our family operates a general contracting and engineering firm that undertakes various projects in Marin and San Francisco, including numerous public works. Additionally, one of my passions is managing our operating ranch in Northern California, where we harvest honey from our bee hives and take great pleasure in growing Christmas trees. My children particularly enjoy finding eggs in the chicken coop.

As an avid biking and outdoor enthusiast, I cherish the vibrant and active lifestyle this area promotes. Having attended public schools myself, including the College of Marin, I am a staunch supporter of public education. I am eager to give back to the community that has given so much to me, and I believe that joining the PTA will be an excellent way to contribute.
